Gilbert Njeru

Gilbert Njeru is a Kenyan social entrepreneur, adventure leader, and community development advocate dedicated to creating opportunities for young people through education, sport, and outdoor adventure. As the Chair of Moving Mountains Kenya and Director of Adventure Alternative Kenya, Gilbert has spent years combining adventure tourism with meaningful community impact. Through these initiatives, he has helped support feeding programmes, education sponsorships, youth football development, and community infrastructure projects that benefit hundreds of children and families in Embu County. Gilbert is also an endurance adventurer and expedition leader. He has led numerous treks on Mount Kenya, organized cycling and desert challenges across Kenya, and participated in the “Summit to Sea” fundraising challenge, covering 749 km in seven days to raise funds for community projects. Beyond adventure, Gilbert plays an active role in local leadership and community networks, including serving as President of the Rotary Club of Embu (2020–2021). He is passionate about building partnerships between communities, government, and international supporters to create sustainable development solutions. Through his work, Gilbert continues to inspire people to explore the outdoors, support communities, and believe in the power of adventure to change lives.
